Synopsis:

The story centers on Amari, a young boy in the Congo who is forcibly recruited as a child soldier. He has vivid memories of being a doctor named Jabari in a past life, who was killed along with his family by a brutal general named Omari.

As a child soldier, Amari is traumatized by the violence he witnesses and is forced to participate in. He vows revenge against Omari. When their base camp is attacked, Amari seizes the opportunity, confronting Omari in the latrines and brutally killing him.

Amari then escapes into the forest, pursued by soldiers. After a harrowing journey, he makes it back to his parents’ home in Brazzaville, shaken by his experiences. The next day he wakes up with total amnesia, unable to remember the traumatic events he just endured.

The story explores the themes of reincarnation, trauma, revenge, innocence lost, and the search for identity. It follows Amari’s transformation from an innocent boy to a killer and back again, suggesting that while violence can change a person, their intrinsic goodness may still remain.

Title: Hamburg

Genre: Historical Drama

Logline: “Hamburg” details the events leading to the first firestorm in history, the Hamburg firestorm in WWII.

Synopsis:

As the war escalates, SS general Hans Richter is assigned to Hamburg, a city that will soon become a target of Allied bombings. Amid the escalating chaos, he witnesses the devastation wrought by his own side, triggering a realization of the horrors of war. Stricken with guilt and a desire to prevent further suffering, Hans helps a woman named Elsa and a group of anti-Nazis get civilians out of the city amidst the chaos of the firestorm. He orders trains returning from the concentration camps to be filled with all civilians possible, including Jews, and then have them emptied in  a remote field. After several remote trips Hans notices the aluminum chaff raining down on the city. The sound of a thosand bomber raid fills the sky as the last train is filled. Hans forces Elsa to take the last train and promises to join her her in the next one, telling her he needs to survive to save more people and won’t be careless with his life. Hans decides to wait for one more. It is destroyed by a P-51 Mustang. Hans decides to go to an air raid shelter, which is packed, very very packed with people. He makes it inside, and the door is sealed. The firestorm begins. The incendiaries create gflames so intense that the firestorm kills simply by suffocating the civilians first, and then incinerationating them. The storms suck up people, bikes, cars and trees.  The next day, as they walk through the ruins of a city where the gutters are running with the molten fat of the dead, rescuers atemmpt to open Hans’ air shelter. When they do, the bodies are so hot they burst into flames. One of the first we see burst into flames is Hans.

Logline: A former SS guard, haunted by the specter of a Jewish victim he tormented during the Holocaust, finds his life unraveling as poltergeist activity torments his family, leading them to gruesome deaths.

Treatment:

Act 1:

Klaus, a retired SS guard, returns to his home after decades of living with the guilt of his past actions. He suppresses the horrors he committed during his time at the concentration camp, particularly against a Jewish man named David whom he tortured, set dogs on, and burned alive. Soon after his return, strange and unsettling occurrences begin to transpire: objects move on their own, eerie shadows lurk, and whispers fill the air.

Act 2:

As the haunting intensifies, Klaus’s family starts experiencing terrifying incidents. His wife, Maria, is inexplicably thrown down the stairs, resulting in a fatal injury. Their son, Lukas, suffers a freak accident when a kitchen knife mysteriously impales him. Klaus seeks help from experts in the paranormal, only to learn that the malevolent force is connected to his past crimes.

Haunted by guilt and desperate to save his remaining family members, Klaus embarks on a journey of self-discovery. He revisits the concentration camp’s ruins, searching for answers and redemption. He uncovers records about the atrocities he committed, and learns that David’s spirit seeks vengeance.

Act 3:

The haunting continues to escalate, when within the walls of Klaus’s house it begins to snow crematorium ashes and ghostly apparitions begin tormenting him day and night.

Klaus’s mental state deteriorates, torn between his guilt and the supernatural torment. He becomes a recluse, obsessively trying to decipher how to free his family from the grip of the vengeful spirit. The climax approaches when Klaus, in a state of desperation, gets into a car accident. Trapped in the burning wreckage, he manages to escape but not before suffering severe burns.

Act 4:

Battered and broken, Klaus stumbles away from the wreckage, his body still engulfed in flames. He manages to extinguish the fire, but his salvation is short-lived as a pack of wild dogs, reminiscent of those he once set upon David, descend upon him. The dogs tear into his flesh, symbolizing the culmination of his past sins catching up with him.
