Genre: War/Supernatural/Drama

Logline: In a chilling tale of justice from beyond the grave, a boy of 10 remembers a past life as a doctor that was murdered with his wife and children. He is abducted by an army led by the same general who killed him in the past life.

Treatment

Act 1

Jabari , a man of 35, is watching television with his family one night. He hears the sound of a troop carrier outside. He thinks nothing of it, but soon his door is broken down and a dozen troops storm into his house. A soldier zip ties Jabari and tells him to get on his knees. The general, Omari, walks in.

He questions Jabari and asks why he killed his brother Idir. Omari is insane with rage. He only wants blood tonight. Jabari explains he is only a doctor and points to a framed photo of him and his staff. Omari doesn’t care. The case of mistaken identity only enraged him more.

Omari’s soldiers round up his family, zip tie them, and bring them together. Before he dies a furious Jabari looks at Omari and swears he will exact a bloody revenge in this life or the next. He is quickly executed by Omari with a shot between the eyes.

The soldiers pour gasoline around the house, and then set it on fire. They leave. In minutes the house will be fully ablaze.

Act 2

Three months later Amari is born. He is born with a pale, circular birthmark on his forehead. It is about the size of a nickel.

Amari struggles with bad dreams. When he is five years of age, he goes to the market with his mother. While his mother, Hibo, examines produce Amari excitedly tells her a woman of about 60, Imani, is his past mother. He points to her matter-of-factly. Hibo is noticeably disturbed, and quickly leaves the market.

After consulting with her husband Chima they decide to see a child psychologist. Amari is able to open up to her. He tells Zuri, the psychologist, everything he remembers. After the session, Zuri calls his mother and says he has a vivid imagination and may be experiencing a form of dissassociation. She notes one area of concern. She says that Amari told him about his former mother, Imani, and that he even remembered her number, which she called and confirmed. She refers him to a psychiatrist, who prescribes two medications: Clozapine, an anti-psychotic, and Trazadone, a sleeping medication.

Act 3

By the time Amari is ten the country is still ravaged by war and there are many child soldiers. While walking to school with friends a truck in a long line of military vehicles pulls off the road close to them. He is abducted by the militia. Troops tell them to get in, firing in the air. Amari gets on the back of a Toyota truck with a .50 caliber machine gun mounted in the back. The passenger disembarks and heads to the back of the truck. He smiles at Amari. It’s Gen. Omari!

Soon, however, Amari gets used to life in the militia. He gets hardened after several close calls with death. After several battles with a rival militia, Amari is an experienced, fearless killer. Having killed grown men made him bolder, but he is still haunted by nightmares of his past life and still obsessed with thoughts of revenge.

One day in the base camp Amari notices Omari has become ill and has diarrhea. He is running back and forth to the latrines right in the middle of an attempt to overrun the camp. The sound of gunfire fills the air. While everyone else is rushing to battle, Amari sees an opportunity. He pretends he is sick too. He follows Omari to the latrines and as he is relieving himself, and before Omari could grab his weapon Amari stands in front of him, aiming straight at him. No one is with them as all the men are fighting. He reminds him of who Jabari was and what he did ten years ago. He asks Omari if he remembers the promise. He shakes his head. Amari tells him detail by painful detail before he tells him that as Jabari, he would kill him, in this life or the next. Omari now remembers and tries to excuse it as mistaken identity.

Amari is in tears of rage, and now channeling the full voice of Jabari, he shakes his head and opens fire.

Act 4

Weary, Amari makes his way out of the jungle and can now go home. He boards a bus. When Amari arrives home he comes inside and his family celebrates his return, but he tells them that he really needs to go to sleep. When he wakes the next day he can’t recall what he did in the last night or the past three months. He stops telling everyone he lived a previous life, because he honestly can’t remember it.

Title: Snapshot

Genre: Psychological Thriller

Logline: A crime scene photographer finds his life unraveling when his camera captures images of future deaths, driving him to desperate measures to prevent the inevitable, only to discover that his struggle against fate might be in vain.

Synopsis: In the gritty underbelly of the city, we meet Richard Banks, a talented crime scene photographer with a reputation for capturing the macabre beauty of death through his lens. Richard, however, soon discovers a chilling and inexplicable phenomenon: his camera starts filling up with images of dead people he’s never photographed.

At first, Richard dismisses it as a result of his poor memory or overactive imagination, until the images eerily match the crime scenes he’s called to document the following day. Disturbed and mystified, he struggles to come to terms with this disturbing gift or curse. As the occurrences become more frequent, Richard becomes obsessed with changing the future and preventing the impending deaths he sees in his camera.

His efforts to intervene with celebrities whose deaths he foresees are met with skepticism and scorn. Despite his earnest attempts to save lives, his interventions seem to inadvertently seal their fates, leading many to label him as mentally unstable.

One day, Richard sees a woman, Elena, crossing the street, and his camera captures an image of her lifeless form. Desperate to save her, Richard orchestrates an elaborate scheme to have Elena arrested in hopes of sparing her from her predicted demise. Tragically, his efforts fail, leaving Richard shattered and guilt-ridden.

In a last-ditch effort to escape the torment, Richard acquires a new camera, believing that he can break the cycle. However, his new camera presents the same ominous images, confirming that the phenomenon transcends the equipment he uses. Distraught and exhausted, Richard decides to isolate himself in a remote motel for a month, convinced that he has finally escaped the relentless grip of fate.

As Richard believes he has successfully broken free from the curse, a sense of relief washes over him. But his newfound hope is shattered when, while stopped at a traffic light, a carjacker attempts to steal his car. In the ensuing chaos, Richard is shot and killed, his life tragically mirroring the final set of images captured by his camera.

“Snapshot” is a psychological thriller that explores the haunting interplay between premonition, free will, and the inexorable march of destiny. As Richard grapples with his chilling gift and embarks on a desperate mission to alter the course of events, the story delves into the blurred boundaries of reality and perception, ultimately questioning whether our efforts to escape fate can ever truly succeed.

A hapless couple trapped in a motion picture face the compelling reality that they are living in a film and cannot control their fate.

Title: The Imagination of Bubba Cobbledick

Genre: Supernatural, Comedy, Drama

Logline: A hapless couple trapped in a motion picture face the compelling reality that they are living in a film and cannot control their fate.

Synopsis: “The Imagination of Bubba Cobbledick” explores the compelling concept of characters discovering their existence in a world controlled by an unknown hand. As Melissa and Jake navigate their fragile reality, their desperate pursuit for autonomy and happiness intertwines with themes of fate, free will, and the power of storytelling. Ultimately, their journey leads them to forge their own path, questioning the very essence of their existence and their ability to shape their destiny.

Treatment:

Act 1:

Melissa and Jake, an ordinary couple in their early thirties, stumble upon a grand mansion during their afternoon stroll. Drawn by curiosity, they approach the imposing double doors. Jake, with a mischievous smile, pushes the door open, revealing a dark room illuminated only by the faint glow of a flickering screen.

Melissa and Jake step inside, their eyes widening as they witness an audience of thousands, intently watching a movie. Overwhelmed, they look around for any signs of life only to notice their feet are mere inches away from the gigantic movie screen.

Panic sets in as Melissa and Jake frantically try to communicate with the audience, desperately explaining that they are real, not part of the movie. However, their pleas are met with uproarious laughter, a mocking echo resounding through the room.

Act 2:

In disbelief, Melissa and Jake call the writer, the creator of their existence. Jake, filled with uncertainty, questions the writer, hoping to unravel the mysteries behind their lives. He asks if their story will have a happy ending. The writer responds with cryptic caution, mentioning that revealing it would be a spoiler.

Frustration bubbles within Jake as he passionately curses the writer. Suddenly, Jake’s right hand begins to punch himself, seemingly under the control of the writer. I can do this all day, Jake, he says. Watch your tone with your creator. Melissa and Jake, now more determined than ever, hatch a plan to distract the writer. They realize that through their own actions and choices, they have taken on a life of their own in an alternate realm, separate from the writer’s control.

They cunningly deceive the writer, tricking him into temporarily leaving them alone, hoping to secure their freedom from his whims and cruelties.

Act 3:

Jake wakes up from a nightmare, realizing he can communicate with the writer through dreams. In a bold move, he confronts the writer and demands a happy ending, threatening to torment him until his death if he refuses. The writer wakes with a start, his creative conscience awakened by Jake’s ominous words. Determined to appease his creation, the writer revises his script, shaping a beautiful life for Melissa and Jake.

As the revised script unfolds, Melissa and Jake’s lives take a turn for the better. They get married, move into a charming house, and have a family filled with laughter and love. The couple grows old together, with each passing milestone captured in fleeting moments.

At the age of 120, Melissa and Jake, now elderly and content, peacefully pass away in their sleep, holding each other’s hands. Their departure, though bittersweet, marks the fulfillment of their extraordinary journey from the clutches of mere imagination to a meaningful existence.

Genre: Science Fiction/Thriller

Logline: A friendly grey alien befriends a young boy, telling him he is an angel, but soon he tells the boy to kill his brother because God wants him to save the world. A man in black eventually explains the alien is an extra-dimensional demon, not an angel, and is therefore national security threat.

Synopsis: “The Visitor” is a compelling, tragic tale of moral dilemmas, supernatural encounters, and the red line between good and evil. It is a thrilling narrative involving extraterrestrial beings, government conspiracies, and the ultimate struggle for redemption.

Treatment:

Act 1:

Jason, a young boy, begins experiencing mysterious visits from an alien grey. Intriguingly, the grey appears to have a keen interest in observing him as he sleeps. Jason’s parents, alarmed by their son’s claims, decide to install a camera in his room to document these encounters.

Act 2:

One fateful night, the grey materializes through Jason’s bedroom wall, captured on camera. Astonishingly, the footage reveals the grey’s intense gaze fixed upon Jason as he peacefully slumbers. The parents, eager to shed light on this inexplicable phenomenon, send the tape to the media. The tape gains significant attention, intriguing both the public and authorities alike. However, the situation takes a darker turn when men in black arrive promptly to confiscate both the camera and tapes from the television station and the family’s home, claiming national security concerns.

Meanwhile, Jason confides in his parents about an encounter with an angelic figure who promises to lead him to greatness. Despite this encounter’s seemingly benevolent nature, the angel suggests that Jason must undertake challenging tasks to save the world, including killing his younger brother, Elijah. Jason resists, torn between the enticement of a higher purpose and the innate love he feels for his brother.

Act 3:

Persistently haunted by the angel’s proposition, Jason seeks guidance from the grey. Offering visions of the disastrous future Elijah will bring upon the world, the grey insists that even God instructed Abraham to sacrifice his son. Manipulating Jason’s conscience, the grey convinces him that eliminating Elijah is a necessary evil. Eventually, Jason succumbs to the grey’s influence and shoots his brother, believing he has fulfilled his destined path. However, to his astonishment, Elijah survives the gunshot, leaving Jason conflicted and tormented by guilt.

Act 4:

Tim, one of the men in black, takes an interest in Jason’s case and conducts an interview. During their conversation, Tim delves deeper into the reported encounters and mentions the existence of extra-dimensions. Comparing previous reports, Tim reveals the shocking truth to Jason – the being he believed to be an angel is, in fact, a demon, entering their world extra-dimensionally. Furthermore, Tim discloses that their agency has been in contact with a woman who prophesied the emergence of a great prophet from Jason’s bloodline, so that’s why they took such an interest in his case. The agency recognizes the significance of this prophecy, hence their severe measures to ensure national security.

Act 5:

Years pass, and a grown-up Elijah emerges as a major prophet, openly declaring the arrival of the apocalypse. People flock to witness Elijah’s divine abilities, including shutting the heavens and performing miracles before vast multitudes. As the world bears witness to these profound events, Jason must grapple with the consequences of his actions and the knowledge that the being he once believed to be an angel, and later a demon, has played a significant role in shaping their destinies.

Genre: Psychological horror, supernatural

Logline: Tom, a grieving widower, is haunted by love notes from his deceased wife. As the notes become increasingly mysterious and manipulative, Tom’s mental state deteriorates, leading to tragic consequences. Unbeknownst to him, sinister forces are at play, threatening not only his sanity but also his very existence.

Synopsis:“Mary” is an unnerving, poignant narrative of loss and the supernatural woven into a complex tapestry of the blurring line between reality and madness in extreme grief.

Treatment:

Act 1:
Tom, a deeply loving husband tragically loses his wife, Sarah, in a car accident. He spirals into an intense period of grief, unable to bear the loss of his beloved wife. He grieves for months and months. Before she died, she used to write him love notes and letters and place them in his lunch. Soon he finds one. He compares it to her old notes, and they match, sparking confusion and disbelief. Tom begins finding more notes from his deceased wife around his home, fueling his sense of unease and curiosity.

Concerned by his confusion and dissociation, Tom seeks therapy to understand the source of these notes. The therapist proposes that Tom may have written the notes himself during his grief-induced dissociative state. Suggesting medication and hospitalization, the therapist aims to ensure Tom’s safety and mental well-being. Tom reluctantly agrees to hospitalization, where a doctor recommends electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) to reset his brain and combat his severe depression. Though hesitant due to potential consequences, Tom consents to the treatment in hopes of finding solace.

Act 2:
After a few weeks of treatment, Tom’s depression begins to lift. The hospital deems him well and releases him to return home, albeit warning him about potential memory issues. Back home, Tom experiences relative peace, since the notes have ceased, although he struggles with memory retention issues, leading to a demotion at work.

Tom is reassigned to customer service; however, surprisingly, he remains content and seems to have found some form of acceptance. One day at work, Tom receives a strange phone call consisting of only static but hears a whisper from a familiar voice, saying “I love you.” Feeling an inexplicable connection, Tom rushes home to discover his kitchen plastered with post-it notes from Mary, revealing she was pregnant and expressing her love and longing.

Overwhelmed by emotion, Tom collapses and openly mourns his love for Mary, admitting he cannot bear living without her.

Act 3:
As Tom cries, the post-it notes on the refrigerator door fall to the ground, yet a disembodied hand appears and continues writing. The hand cryptically writes, “It’s in the garage,” leading Tom to believe Mary is guiding him to something significant. Overwhelmed with purpose, Tom enters the garage where he finds a rope and a milk crate, understanding his tragic fate.

Consumed by his love for Mary and yearning for their reunion, Tom succumbs to despair and hangs himself. Later, as the house is put up for sale, potential buyers inquire about the previous owner, sensing a dark history. The realtor reveals that several previous tenants reported the house being haunted, with one tragically ending their life within its walls.

A medium is called to the house, unveiling that two spirits reside within it—an evil one that manipulated the second, leading the desperate spirit into self-destruction by pretending to be Tom’s deceased wife, Mary.

Logline: Blending the rugged landscapes of the wild west with a supernatural twist, “The Mark of Asmodeus” follows Dr. Mike Templeton, a skeptical minister and doctor, as he confronts his disbelief in the supernatural amidst a series of chilling, fatal events in a violent town when he encounters a malevolent spirit named Asmodeus.

Act 1:

Dr. Mike Templeton, a highly educated and rational man, finds himself in a lawless town riddled with violence. Serving as both minister and doctor, he remains steadfast in his skepticism towards religious mysticism and the supernatural. When a desperate prostitute named Mary claims her son is possessed by demons, Mike dismisses her beliefs as superstitious nonsense.

As Mary’s son’s behavior becomes increasingly erratic and destructive, Mike attributes it to insanity due to syphlis inhirited at birth. He faces challenges from both the townsfolk who hold traditional beliefs and from his own internal struggle to reconcile his education with the inexplicable events unfolding before him.

Act 2:

Despite Mike’s attempts to provide medical care and rational explanations, the boy’s malevolent actions intensify. The church is set ablaze, and a string of heinous crimes ensues, including murder. The boy, claiming to be Asmodeus, is eventually apprehended and hanged. As he dies, he mocks Mike’s skepticism and challenges his beliefs.

Haunted by the boy’s last words, Mike embarks on a journey to understand the inexplicable forces at play. He encounters Lewis, a seemingly friendly man who engages him in a deep theological discussion about the Apocrypha and hidden truths. However, Mike’s conversation takes a sinister turn when he learns that Lewis is suspected of heinous crimes, including murdering his own family.

Act 3:

Mike’s life takes an unexpected turn as he grapples with the possibility that Asmodeus is more than a mere superstition. Driven by a newfound purpose, Mike learns how to shoot and embarks on a quest to hunt down outlaws whom he believes bear the mark of Asmodeus. In his pursuit of vengeance, he crosses paths with both danger and redemption, confronting the darkness within himself and the shadowy forces that lurk in the wild west.

As he tracks down and eliminates outlaws one by one, Mike’s actions draw the attention of lawmen and outlaws alike. His journey leads to a climactic showdown in a lawless town, where the lines between reality and the supernatural become irrevocably blurred. Mike must confront the true nature of the malevolent force that calls itself Asmoeus and make a final, fateful decision that will shape the destiny of both himself and the wild west. When finally cornered by a sheriff and his deputy, the sheriff whispers ‘we’ve met before, I believe. My name is Asmodeus.”

Title: Ascension

Genre: Psychological Drama / Supernatural Mystery

Logline: “Ascension” follows a dedicated psychiatrist as she grapples with a patient who believes he’s Jesus, leading to an intense battle between science and faith. When the patient’s condition takes a baffling turn and defies medical explanation, it challenges her beliefs and perception of reality, ultimately crossing the line between the rational and the supernatural.

Synopsis: “Ascension” delves into the intricate interplay between science, spirituality, and the human mind, as a psychiatrist finds herself entangled in a perplexing case that defies conventional understanding.

Act 1:

Dr. Emily Holloway, a seasoned psychiatrist, is introduced to her new patient, John, who firmly believes he is Jesus Christ. Despite her efforts, John’s condition deteriorates, and he becomes increasingly convinced of his divine identity. Conventional treatments, including medication and hospitalizations, prove futile, leaving Dr. Holloway frustrated and desperate for a breakthrough.

As Dr. Holloway delves deeper into John’s case, she becomes consumed by the blurred line between mental illness and spiritual experiences. Her skepticism is challenged by the enigmatic nature of John’s delusions, and she is haunted by her inability to alleviate his suffering.

Act 2:

Driven to a desperate act of faith, John embarks on a dangerous 40-day fast, mirroring the biblical story of Jesus’ own fasting in the desert. Despite medical intervention and force-feeding attempts, John’s body deteriorates rapidly, defying the laws of nature. As his condition reaches a critical point, Dr. Holloway prepares John’s family for the worst, believing he has only hours left to live.

In a shocking twist, John mysteriously disappears from his hospital bed, leaving everyone baffled. Dr. Holloway is haunted by doubts about her ability to understand the complexities of the human mind and the possibility of an existence beyond what science can explain.

Act 3:

As Dr. Holloway grapples with the unexplainable disappearance, she becomes engrossed in media coverage of a miraculous event. The news reports show a figure descending from the sky, surrounded by radiant light and angelic beings. To her astonishment, she recognizes the figure as John.

The film concludes with a profound revelation that challenges Dr. Holloway’s preconceptions. She is forced to confront a startling cognitive dissonance at the possibility that there are forces at play beyond the realm of science. “Ascension” raises thought-provoking questions about the limits of human understanding, the mysteries of faith, and the profound impact of perception on reality.

A former SS guard, haunted by the specter of a Jewish victim he tormented during the Holocaust, finds his life unraveling as poltergeist activity torments his family, leading them to gruesome deaths.

Genre: Psychological Horror/Drama

Logline: A former SS guard, haunted by the specter of a Jewish victim he tormented during the Holocaust, finds his life unraveling as poltergeist activity torments his family, leading them to gruesome deaths.

Treatment:

Act 1:

Klaus, a retired SS guard, returns to his home after decades of living with the guilt of his past actions. He suppresses the horrors he committed during his time at the concentration camp, particularly against a Jewish man named David whom he tortured, set dogs on, and burned alive. Soon after his return, strange and unsettling occurrences begin to transpire: objects move on their own, eerie shadows lurk, and whispers fill the air.

Act 2:

As the haunting intensifies, Klaus’s family starts experiencing terrifying incidents. His wife, Maria, is inexplicably thrown down the stairs, resulting in a fatal injury. Their son, Lukas, suffers a freak accident when a kitchen knife mysteriously impales him. Klaus seeks help from experts in the paranormal, only to learn that the malevolent force is connected to his past crimes.

Haunted by guilt and desperate to save his remaining family members, Klaus embarks on a journey of self-discovery. He revisits the concentration camp’s ruins, searching for answers and redemption. He uncovers records about the atrocities he committed, and learns that David’s spirit seeks vengeance.

Act 3:

The haunting continues to escalate, when within the walls of Klaus’s house it begins to snow crematorium ashes and ghostly apparitions begin tormenting him day and night.

Klaus’s mental state deteriorates, torn between his guilt and the supernatural torment. He becomes a recluse, obsessively trying to decipher how to free his family from the grip of the vengeful spirit. The climax approaches when Klaus, in a state of desperation, gets into a car accident. Trapped in the burning wreckage, he manages to escape but not before suffering severe burns.

Act 4:

Battered and broken, Klaus stumbles away from the wreckage, his body still engulfed in flames. He manages to extinguish the fire, but his salvation is short-lived as a pack of wild dogs, reminiscent of those he once set upon David, descend upon him. The dogs tear into his flesh, symbolizing the culmination of his past sins catching up with him.
