A legendary gunslinger, now paraplegic and hunted, faces off against vengeful brothers in a deadly showdown.

Title: The Ambush

Genre: Wild West Drama/Action

Logline: A legendary gunslinger, now paraplegic and hunted, faces off against vengeful brothers in a deadly showdown.

Synopsis: In the gritty world of the Wild West, we meet Mark Dawson, once renowned as the fastest draw in the region, feared and respected by many. His life takes a fateful turn when an explosion blows his legs off in a shootout. Stripped of his legs and reputation, Mark struggles to adapt to his new reality.

Meanwhile, the three McCallister brothers, fueled by vengeance, seek Mark for the killing of their sibling in a past confrontation. Mark’s condition makes him an easy target for their revenge, as they plan a deadly ambush in the town’s main street. With two brothers positioned in front and one behind, they offer Mark a chance to say his final prayers.

Facing certain death, Mark’s true nature comes to light. Instead of pleading for his own salvation, he asks for forgiveness, not for himself but for the enemies who seek his life. As he utters his request, his keen, honed hearing calculates the positions of the brothers and the likely location of the one behind him.

The first telltale click of a cocked gun resonates in the tense air. With reflexes honed over years of practice, Mark defies his condition, drops and rolls out of the line of fire. In a blur of movement, he fires three shots so rapidly that they blend into one, taking down the shooters. The dust settles, and the once-feared gunslinger is triumphant.

I was standing near Wild Bill on Main Street, when someone began ‘shooting up the town’ at the eastern end of the street. It was Bill Mulvey, a notorious murderer from Missouri, known as a handy man with a gun. He had just enough red liquor in him to be mean and he seemed to derive great amusement from shooting holes into the mirrors, as well as the bottles of liquor behind the bars, of the saloons in that section of the street. As was usually the case with such fellows, he was looking for trouble, and when someone told him that Wild Bill was the town marshal and therefore it behooved him to behave himself, Mulvey swore that he would find Wild Bill and shoot him on sight. He further averred that the marshal was the very man he was looking for and that he had come to the ‘damn’ town’ for the express purpose of killing him.

The tenor of these remarks was somehow made known to Wild Bill. But hardly had the news reached him than Mulvey appeared on the scene, tearing toward us on his iron-grey horse, rifle in hand, full cocked. When Wild Bill saw Mulvey he walked out to meet him, apparently waving his hand to some fellows behind Mulvey and calling to them: ‘Don’t shoot him in the back; he is drunk.’

Mulvey stopped his horse and, wheeling the animal about, drew a bead on his rifle in the direction of the imaginary man he thought Wild Bill was addressing. But before he realized the ruse that had been played upon him, Wild Bill had aimed his six-shooter and fired-just once. Mulvey dropped from his horse – dead, the bullet having penetrated his temple and then passed through his head.”

In the aftermath of the showdown, Mark is helped back up by Wendy, a compassionate and resourceful prostitute who witnessed the confrontation. As Mark sits there, battered but victorious, he shares a moment of connection with Wendy, whose kindness challenges his cynical outlook on life.

Mark calls for his loyal carriage driver, Sam, to take him back home. In the carriage, Mark reflects on his past, the choices he’s made, and the redemption he seeks. Through his interactions with Wendy and Sam, he begins to realize that his true strength lies not in his gun, but in his ability to inspire change and connect with others.

A hapless couple trapped in a motion picture face the compelling reality that they are living in a film and cannot control their fate.

Title: The Imagination of Bubba Cobbledick

Genre: Supernatural, Comedy, Drama

Logline: A hapless couple trapped in a motion picture face the compelling reality that they are living in a film and cannot control their fate.

Synopsis: “The Imagination of Bubba Cobbledick” explores the compelling concept of characters discovering their existence in a world controlled by an unknown hand. As Melissa and Jake navigate their fragile reality, their desperate pursuit for autonomy and happiness intertwines with themes of fate, free will, and the power of storytelling. Ultimately, their journey leads them to forge their own path, questioning the very essence of their existence and their ability to shape their destiny.

Treatment:

Act 1:

Melissa and Jake, an ordinary couple in their early thirties, stumble upon a grand mansion during their afternoon stroll. Drawn by curiosity, they approach the imposing double doors. Jake, with a mischievous smile, pushes the door open, revealing a dark room illuminated only by the faint glow of a flickering screen.

Melissa and Jake step inside, their eyes widening as they witness an audience of thousands, intently watching a movie. Overwhelmed, they look around for any signs of life only to notice their feet are mere inches away from the gigantic movie screen.

Panic sets in as Melissa and Jake frantically try to communicate with the audience, desperately explaining that they are real, not part of the movie. However, their pleas are met with uproarious laughter, a mocking echo resounding through the room.

Act 2:

In disbelief, Melissa and Jake call the writer, the creator of their existence. Jake, filled with uncertainty, questions the writer, hoping to unravel the mysteries behind their lives. He asks if their story will have a happy ending. The writer responds with cryptic caution, mentioning that revealing it would be a spoiler.

Frustration bubbles within Jake as he passionately curses the writer. Suddenly, Jake’s right hand begins to punch himself, seemingly under the control of the writer. I can do this all day, Jake, he says. Watch your tone with your creator. Melissa and Jake, now more determined than ever, hatch a plan to distract the writer. They realize that through their own actions and choices, they have taken on a life of their own in an alternate realm, separate from the writer’s control.

They cunningly deceive the writer, tricking him into temporarily leaving them alone, hoping to secure their freedom from his whims and cruelties.

Act 3:

Jake wakes up from a nightmare, realizing he can communicate with the writer through dreams. In a bold move, he confronts the writer and demands a happy ending, threatening to torment him until his death if he refuses. The writer wakes with a start, his creative conscience awakened by Jake’s ominous words. Determined to appease his creation, the writer revises his script, shaping a beautiful life for Melissa and Jake.

As the revised script unfolds, Melissa and Jake’s lives take a turn for the better. They get married, move into a charming house, and have a family filled with laughter and love. The couple grows old together, with each passing milestone captured in fleeting moments.

At the age of 120, Melissa and Jake, now elderly and content, peacefully pass away in their sleep, holding each other’s hands. Their departure, though bittersweet, marks the fulfillment of their extraordinary journey from the clutches of mere imagination to a meaningful existence.

Title: Fade to Madness

Genre: Psychological Thriller/Drama

Logline: After the death of her only son, an unethical psychiatrist is thrown into the full throes of madness after a gypsy mother’s curse, this to the point of experiencing the true depths of hell.

Synopsis: “Fade to Madness” is a chilling, relentless narrative of abandoned morality and greed that delves into themes of guilt, redemption, and the devastating impact of one’s actions on others.

Treatment:

Act 1:

Dr. Nathan Kramer is a successful psychiatrist who believes he can treat even the most severe cases of mental illness. However, behind his professional facade lies a cruel and unscrupulous man who exploits vulnerable patients for financial gain. Driven by greed, he misleads patients into undergoing electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) despite knowing that it is ineffective for their conditions. We see Dr. Kramer’s patients deteriorate further, losing their jobs and becoming isolated due to severe memory loss caused by the unnecessary ECT treatments. One patient, a schizophrenic named Mark, tragically takes his own life while under Dr. Kramer’s care, devastating Mark’s mother.

Act 2:

One day, the grieving mother, a mysterious and attractive gypsy woman, confronts Dr. Kramer, blaming him for her son’s suicide. She rubs a potent oil on his temple while delivering a cryptic warning. Disturbed and dismissing her actions as mere superstition, Dr. Kramer calls for security to escort her out. That night, Dr. Kramer’s life begins to unravel. He hears unsettling voices whispering in his mind, urging him to self-harm and commit violent acts against others. Tainted by paranoia and haunted by the laughter of malevolent children, he checks himself into a hospital for psychiatric care.

Act 3:

Dr. Kramer’s close friend, another psychiatrist, prescribes him the most potent antipsychotics available, providing temporary relief from his disturbing symptoms. Granted his release, Dr. Kramer believes he is safe. However, tragedy strikes when, during a blackout episode, he unknowingly kills a teenager. Haunted by the fear that he may have committed more unknown atrocities, Dr. Kramer elects to undergo an extensive series of ECT treatments, desperate to regain control over his mind. The procedure backfires, leaving him with severe cognitive impairments and further alienating him from his family and friends.

Act 4:

As Dr. Kramer’s life crumbles, he becomes trapped in a self-imposed prison of remorse and anguish. The mocking voice of the deceased patient echoes in his mind, tormenting his every waking moment. Consumed by guilt and hearing the scornful laughter of his victims, he spirals deeper into madness. Eventually, Dr. Kramer is arrested for the murder of the teenager, his guilt shrouded in a fog of fragmented memories. He is found guilty and sentenced to spend the remainder of his life in prison, where he is left to battle with the demons of his past.

We see Bintang’s paws when they climb onto the foot of Bahyu’s bed and begin to knead the blankets. We see his paws as he scratches the fleas on his neck.

Act 2

Mr. Wahyu can’t wake up. A doctor is called and Wahyu is declared dead. The villagers gather around for Mr. Wahyu’s funeral, devastated by the loss of their beloved friend. Bintang, unable to comprehend the absence of his owner, appears in distress. He approaches Mr. Wahyu’s grave and meows pitifully. Bintang’s grief grows stronger. Determined to be close to his beloved owner, Bintang starts digging at Mr. Wahyu’s grave, forcing the villagers to intervene. Villagers struggle to stop the cat from unearthing the grave, but Bintang doesn’t understand their efforts. A weary grave digger named PAK ADI notices Bintang’s relentless attempts once the villagers leave. He observes the cat’s behavior and offers a sympathetic smile. Understanding Bintang’s struggle, Pak Adi decides to help.

With Pak Adi’s assistance, Bintang and the grave digger dig up the grave. As the grave opens, they uncover an astonishing sight: Mr. Wahyu, who had been in a coma, breathes weakly. Determined, they act swiftly, carrying Mr. Wahyu to a nearby hospital.

Act 3

Mr. Wahyu lies motionless, hooked-up to monitors and surrounded by medical professionals. Bintang watches him from the corner of the room, hope emanating from his eyes. After an anxious wait, a doctor walks up to Bintang, running his hand over the feline’s fur. The doctor announces that Mr. Wahyu has awakened from his coma, shocking everyone present. Bintang, overjoyed, leaps onto Mr. Wahyu’s hospital bed, purring loudly. Tears stream down Mr. Wahyu’s face as he strokes Bintang’s head, grateful for his feline companion’s unwavering loyalty.

Months pass, and Bintang and Mr. Wahyu, both healthy, return to their humble village hut. The villagers are thrilled to see the miraculous recovery. Bintang, having brought his owner back from the edge of death, becomes a local hero. The villagers honor Bintang in a joyous celebration. They shower him with treats and affection, forever recognizing his unwavering love and loyalty. Bintang, content in his role as savior, basks in the adoration.

Genre: Psychological horror, supernatural

Logline: Tom, a grieving widower, is haunted by love notes from his deceased wife. As the notes become increasingly mysterious and manipulative, Tom’s mental state deteriorates, leading to tragic consequences. Unbeknownst to him, sinister forces are at play, threatening not only his sanity but also his very existence.

Synopsis:“Mary” is an unnerving, poignant narrative of loss and the supernatural woven into a complex tapestry of the blurring line between reality and madness in extreme grief.

Treatment:

Act 1:
Tom, a deeply loving husband tragically loses his wife, Sarah, in a car accident. He spirals into an intense period of grief, unable to bear the loss of his beloved wife. He grieves for months and months. Before she died, she used to write him love notes and letters and place them in his lunch. Soon he finds one. He compares it to her old notes, and they match, sparking confusion and disbelief. Tom begins finding more notes from his deceased wife around his home, fueling his sense of unease and curiosity.

Concerned by his confusion and dissociation, Tom seeks therapy to understand the source of these notes. The therapist proposes that Tom may have written the notes himself during his grief-induced dissociative state. Suggesting medication and hospitalization, the therapist aims to ensure Tom’s safety and mental well-being. Tom reluctantly agrees to hospitalization, where a doctor recommends electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) to reset his brain and combat his severe depression. Though hesitant due to potential consequences, Tom consents to the treatment in hopes of finding solace.

Act 2:
After a few weeks of treatment, Tom’s depression begins to lift. The hospital deems him well and releases him to return home, albeit warning him about potential memory issues. Back home, Tom experiences relative peace, since the notes have ceased, although he struggles with memory retention issues, leading to a demotion at work.

Tom is reassigned to customer service; however, surprisingly, he remains content and seems to have found some form of acceptance. One day at work, Tom receives a strange phone call consisting of only static but hears a whisper from a familiar voice, saying “I love you.” Feeling an inexplicable connection, Tom rushes home to discover his kitchen plastered with post-it notes from Mary, revealing she was pregnant and expressing her love and longing.

Overwhelmed by emotion, Tom collapses and openly mourns his love for Mary, admitting he cannot bear living without her.

Act 3:
As Tom cries, the post-it notes on the refrigerator door fall to the ground, yet a disembodied hand appears and continues writing. The hand cryptically writes, “It’s in the garage,” leading Tom to believe Mary is guiding him to something significant. Overwhelmed with purpose, Tom enters the garage where he finds a rope and a milk crate, understanding his tragic fate.

Consumed by his love for Mary and yearning for their reunion, Tom succumbs to despair and hangs himself. Later, as the house is put up for sale, potential buyers inquire about the previous owner, sensing a dark history. The realtor reveals that several previous tenants reported the house being haunted, with one tragically ending their life within its walls.

A medium is called to the house, unveiling that two spirits reside within it—an evil one that manipulated the second, leading the desperate spirit into self-destruction by pretending to be Tom’s deceased wife, Mary.

Genre: Historical / Revenge Drama

Logline: Based on a true story, “Inês” delves into the depths of revenge and madness as a prince is driven to unspeakable acts after the murder of his beloved wife, whereupon ascending the throne, he forces his father’s advisers to confront the consequences of their actions, includng kissing the hand of the exhumed and enthroned corpse of the dead queen before brutally executing them.

Act 1

It’s 1340, Portugal. Spain and Portugl are in discord, with talk of war. At the time, Afonso IV, the King of Portugal, saw a great interest in entering into an alliance with Juan Manuel, the Prince of Villena, a feudal state in the kingdom of Castile located in southern Spain. Typical of the period, political disputes were often solved with marriages within the aristocracy. A marriage was negotiated between Constanza Manuel of Villena and Dom Pedro, a compassionate and beloved figure who is the future King of Portugal. Constanza left Spain along with her lady-in-waiting Inês de Castro. Pedro fell wildly in love when he first sees Inês. Inês was 15–years-old. She was very beautiful and elegant, with honey blonde hair, eyes of blue, her skin fair. She was also descended from noble Galician and Portuguese lines, and illegitimately, from the Castilian royal house.

Act 2

Inês and Pedro began a secret adulterous love affair that became public after the death of Constance of Peñafiel, Queen of Portugal, in 1345. King Afonso IV was always opposed to the relationship, and banished Inês from the court and sent her to live in exile in the castle of Albuquerque. This doesn’t stop them from seeing each other, however. After 1345, when Constanza died, they started living as a married couple and had four children together. Pedro became close with Inês’ brothers as well. Rumors began to spread that there was a plan of usurping the true heir to the throne, Dom Fernando, the son of Pedro and Constanza, in favor of the children of Inês.

Pedro’s love for Inês alarmed the nobles within the court who feared Castilian dominance of Portugal. In 1354, Pedro legally married Inês, legitimizing their children. The Portuguese nobles then pressured King Afonso IV to settle the matter. In January of 1355, when Pedro was out hunting, the king and three assassins entered the Convento de Sta Clara-a-Valha in Coimbra, where Pedro and Inês lived with their children. They found Inês with one of her children and murdered her in front of the child. At the time of her death, Inês was 29.

Upon learning that his father was resposible for the murder of his wife, Pedro declared war against him, launching the country into civil war. In 1357, two years later, King Alfonso IV died. Pedro, the only male surviving offspring, ascended to the throne of Portugal.

Act 3

Upon assuming the throne Pedro executed three orders. The first was to have a snow-white marble sarcophogas of remarkable beauty to be carved. His third order was to have the killers of Inês found and Inês de Castro to be exhumed from her grave in the church of Santa Clara. She was to be dressed in finery and propped up in the throne room. Although one killer escapes, two of the killers are found. The advisers, now facing their past actions, realize the depths of their treachery and the haunting consequences of their choices. One by one, the advisers are publicly executed, each meeting their fate in a gruesome and poetic manner. The first had his heart ripped out through his chest while he was still alive, the other had his heart ripped out from his back while still alive. Once Inês was seated beside him, Pedro forced the noblemen, the clergy, and the peasants to bow before the dead queen and kiss her hand.

Title: Ascension

Genre: Psychological Drama / Supernatural Mystery

Logline: “Ascension” follows a dedicated psychiatrist as she grapples with a patient who believes he’s Jesus, leading to an intense battle between science and faith. When the patient’s condition takes a baffling turn and defies medical explanation, it challenges her beliefs and perception of reality, ultimately crossing the line between the rational and the supernatural.

Synopsis: “Ascension” delves into the intricate interplay between science, spirituality, and the human mind, as a psychiatrist finds herself entangled in a perplexing case that defies conventional understanding.

Act 1:

Dr. Emily Holloway, a seasoned psychiatrist, is introduced to her new patient, John, who firmly believes he is Jesus Christ. Despite her efforts, John’s condition deteriorates, and he becomes increasingly convinced of his divine identity. Conventional treatments, including medication and hospitalizations, prove futile, leaving Dr. Holloway frustrated and desperate for a breakthrough.

As Dr. Holloway delves deeper into John’s case, she becomes consumed by the blurred line between mental illness and spiritual experiences. Her skepticism is challenged by the enigmatic nature of John’s delusions, and she is haunted by her inability to alleviate his suffering.

Act 2:

Driven to a desperate act of faith, John embarks on a dangerous 40-day fast, mirroring the biblical story of Jesus’ own fasting in the desert. Despite medical intervention and force-feeding attempts, John’s body deteriorates rapidly, defying the laws of nature. As his condition reaches a critical point, Dr. Holloway prepares John’s family for the worst, believing he has only hours left to live.

In a shocking twist, John mysteriously disappears from his hospital bed, leaving everyone baffled. Dr. Holloway is haunted by doubts about her ability to understand the complexities of the human mind and the possibility of an existence beyond what science can explain.

Act 3:

As Dr. Holloway grapples with the unexplainable disappearance, she becomes engrossed in media coverage of a miraculous event. The news reports show a figure descending from the sky, surrounded by radiant light and angelic beings. To her astonishment, she recognizes the figure as John.

The film concludes with a profound revelation that challenges Dr. Holloway’s preconceptions. She is forced to confront a startling cognitive dissonance at the possibility that there are forces at play beyond the realm of science. “Ascension” raises thought-provoking questions about the limits of human understanding, the mysteries of faith, and the profound impact of perception on reality.
